I like my kit. It's the only M&P style gun I've altered. The trigger is almost too "good" for a carry gun. The trigger is fantastic, but has a very short take up and can surprise you the first few rounds after you've changed it.
My Shield sights were a ridiculous pain to change. S&W did a lousy machining job and it was milled poorly, it took a steel punch to get them out. They actually put a notch in a brass punch. On top of it all, some genius at the factory put a ton of red locktite not just on the set screw, but the sight itself. S&W should be ashamed of the lack of consistent quality control on these guns. As a note, if you look at my posts in the past, I'm an ardent S&W/new gun defender, but this is an exception for me. I love the gun now, but it was so much trouble to fix, it almost was not worth it. As an aside, I changed the sights on another M&P in about 10 minutes. I'd like to say my experience was unusual, but if you Google it, you see it was not.
The Talon tool is a help to catch the spring, but not an absolute have to.
