are the shield 9mm spring guides the same as the regular mp striker spring guide( the white plastic insert) cause I need a new one for my 9mm shield was taking the slide apart and have it cerakoted , and I misplaced the part. other than sitting on the phone with smith Wesson til I collect social security any other place that sells them??
The Answer is YES. Calling Smith CS about the Shield is an exercise in futility. They have no clue about the gun. Parts list is not available, they cannot answer a question about this gun intelligently. I called 3 times asked 3 different people in CS about this they did not know squat.
I took a chance and ordered a 9/40 striker assembly from Brownells exchanged emails with Dan Burwell, great guy, and he told me it would fit. Said all 9/40 striker assemblies fit the shield.
Got the assembly 30 minutes ago and it does fit and functions perfectly. Also installed the Apex hard sear and trigger block , trigger pull has dropped to about 4 lbs and smooth as silk. More take up but almost no over travel.
Hope this helps someone else looking for answers that Smith can't won't provide. Saved me 3 to 4 weeks being without my Shield.

Trigger Return Spring
Striker Assembly
Extractor Pin
So it looks like an easy fix for you. If you have any questions, you can try calling Apex.
