I had no idea myself, so I searched and came across this thread here: Will a 40 striker fit In a Shield

relevant parts of that thread :

I took a chance and ordered a 9/40 striker assembly from Brownells exchanged emails with Dan Burwell, great guy, and he told me it would fit. Said all 9/40 striker assemblies fit the shield.
Got the assembly 30 minutes ago and it does fit and functions perfectly. Also installed the Apex hard sear and trigger block , trigger pull has dropped to about 4 lbs and smooth as silk. More take up but almost no over travel.
Hope this helps someone else looking for answers that Smith can't won't provide. Saved me 3 to 4 weeks being without my Shield.

Sear
Sear Spring
Sear Plunger
Striker Block
Striker Block Spring
Striker Block Washer
Trigger Return Spring
Striker Assembly
Extractor Pin

So it looks like an easy fix for you. If you have any questions, you can try calling Apex.
