Is this normal?
Hey guys,
Just thought I would post a picture showing what looks to be a scratch that was present when I purchased a NIB M&P45c at a gun show last weekend. That day I took it to the range and shot ~150 rounds. Is this a flaw from the factory or was my purchase not so NIB?

My NIB didn't have it
I don't think it's normal but I don't think it'll hurt anything.

Looks like where the injection molding sprue was trimmed off. I don't have a polymer framed pistol but I was a maintenance technician at Rubbermaid Commercial Products and that's what it looks like to me.

Snubby is right, casting/mold mark. I have the same mark on my .45, .40 and .40c. Yours just wasn't cleaned up as well as it could have been at the factory.

I've never looked at mine (9c) in that area(but after reading your post, I had to look), I've had it a year, mine is the same and I agree, it's where the plastic was trimmed at the factory, mine still has a little curl of plastic that didn't fall off. Maybe I didn't notice because it was black and I don't see that good anymore.

I just checked my NIB .40c that has not even been fired yet and it has the same kind of mark there. It is smooth but just appears to be from the molding process as mentioned.
