ages ago, owned a fullsize v1. it was precise as can be. it was also quite....large. not overly heavy....large. if You can, shoot one. they are a nice gun,( albeit the trigger is "meh") reliable as death and taxes, and handle recoil like a gem.
if You can find a decent used one, worth looking at.

It was a steal at $450. But, reading all the comments here, I let it go. It wasn't on my "list" anyway.

I would have bought that one. At $450 it's a really good price for a very nice gun.
I didn't realize how long ago I got that USP. Even so, I never really got comfortable with it. I shot it OK, but shoot the M&P and 1911 better. So, I gave my USP 9c to a friend who likes it very much.

I wrote an extensive article on the USP pistols that appeared in the July, 2018 Dillon Blue Press catalog/magazine. You can probably order that back issue by calling 1-800-223-4570; subscriptions are free.

I have a 45 USP Compact and a Tactical. The compact was issued to me as a LEO gun and it came V3. After it was retired, I bought it and changed it to V1. The tactical is crazy accurate with and without a suppressor. Both are keepers.

I've had a few H&K USP pistols, They are well built, reliable and accurate. I didn't like the high bore axis and the bad triggers. I have sold or traded all of them for S&W revolvers and 1911s.
