Question Fixed or adjustable sights?

I'm considering replacing the sights on my M&P Pro 9 5" and my MP22. My main focus is shooting them for Steel Challenge matches, but I also do occasional plinking/shooting for bragging rights with friends at local indoor ranges. I want to have the same sight picture on both, both for consistently in shooting them one after the other in matches and for having the the training with MP22 apply a a bit better to the M&P Pro. After a fair amount of investigation, I have decided to go with Williams Fire Sights with green in the front and red in the rear. My only decision left is whether I should put on fixed sights or adjustable ones. I'm currently using a Revolution holster, which looks to have plenty of clearance for the adjustables. Has anyone else gone through this decision before and tried both? If so, do you have any wisdom to share from that experience?

If you want to do Steel Challenge, this is what you want.

Seriously, I have 2 iron sighted M&P's as well and the stock, non adjustable sights work fine for me. Actually the Core iron sights are dead on as well, but they're just there for decoration now.

I also considered the Williams adjustable Firesights, but I have an expensive holster for IDPA and Steel Challenge that I knew would not accept the taller front sight. I ended up with the non-adjustables for both my M&P9c and M&P22. They both shoot to POA at 25 yards off a sandbag, which is perfect for both sports.
The people at Williams are good at working with you. If you want red in the front and green in the rear, they will make it up for you, but you might have to wait for them.

The optic sight puts you into the "Open" class at Steel Challenge, which is a faster shoot. Also, I like to shoot with the fiber optic sights on mine to practice for concealed carry.

way back when, I made sure my pistols had adjustable sight. Then I realize that once I got them sighted in, they never had to move.

Why pay extra for a fragile and more expensive item that isn't going to be used?

I guess I'll have to put a "This is an attempt at humor" before and after any joking reply. I'm sorry if you don't like to shoot fast. (this is humor too )

Thanks for the replies so far. I want green in the front and red in the rear, which is supposedly how the newer version of both the fixed and adjustable sights are coming from Williams. I'm considering adjustable sights so that I can sight them in very precisely. I'd certainly hope that they wouldn't have to move after I accomplish that unless I change loads pretty drastically. I'm coming to the speed pistol game from benchrest and then rifle silhouette, so I'm pretty picky about accuracy first and then building speed once that is accomplished. Being sighted in very well is a big part of that accuracy base.

I'm not at all interested in putting optics on this pistol. I got it instead of the C.O.R.E. model specifically to shoot in production class. If I wanted to shoot in open class, it would likely be with a custom 2011 or something. If I go to open, there's no sense in only going a baby step into it by just putting an optic on.

The adjustable versions of these sights popped up at MidwayUSA and I had a coupon code for $20 off an order of $100 or more, so I ordered sets for both the M&P Pro 9 5" and the M&P 22 yesterday. I have it and a sight pusher on the way, so hopefully by about this time next week I'll know for sure how well the sights work and if they'll fit into my Revolution holster.
