Default Question for owners of the Shield and Newer M&P full-size Pistols

I recently purchased a full-size M&P9. I have had a Shield9 for almost two years. My question is:

Does your M&P have a less audible reset than your Shield?

The reason I ask is I have an M&P manufactured this year. These are supposed to have a good audible reset, from what I read and had seen on Youtube. I didn't really pay too much attention to it prior to installing the Apex trigger that just arrived. The reset is not even as close to the Shield's. After I installed the Polymer Apex trigger I needed to slightly adjust the "candy-cane" on the trigger bar. That wouldn't have affect the sound of the reset, would it? Or, is the Apex trigger known to have this effect?

Thanks guys.

My FS and 40c are old enough that I have Apex RAMs in them, but I've been handling quite a few recent production M&Ps in the stores. My totally unscientific observation is that my Shield has a more tactile and audible reset then current production stock FS and compacts. I don't know if any of the ones I've handled had the new design slide lock, though.

Oh, and adjusting the trigger bar loop should have had no effect on the reset sound.

My new MP9C
Test at the factory was 12/13
had the Shield reset in it
Audible reset

I had the Apex trigger FSS installed and because of that it didn't need the RAM according to the Smith Armorer

My MP9 FS test fire date 11/13 and Shield 9mm test fire date 4/14 both have identical resets.

Gentlemen; I have noticed a minor difference in brand new "H" series M&P's right out of the box. Most I have tried had good, audible reset. But I have handled at least 2 that didn't have a really good reset. Yes, it was there, and better than pre-"H" series guns, but not as nice as most of the other series "H" guns. My educated guess is parts tolerance. In so much as in one pistol, every thing fits just right, where as another, not so much. Any good M&P Armorer can tune the pistol to where it does reset much better. Heck, anyone can do it, with a modicum of training and knowledge. If all the "H" series of parts are in it, it can and will reset better.
Of course, YMMV.

OK guys as I have stated, the reset in my M&P FS seems to have got less audible. I think I have tracked it down to the "Stock" trigger return spring. I did notice upon install of the Apex Action Enhanced Polymer Trigger that the spring seemed to have a bit more slack than with the "Stock" M&P trigger. It pulls the trigger bar in toward the sear on reset. IMO, less tension equals less of a snap/click sound in the reset. I have the Duty/Carry Spring kit on the way.

It will be here any minute, as the mailman is delivering in my complex, right now. I will take video of the reset with the Apex trigger and "Stock" spring. Then with the Apex trigger and Duty/Carry return spring installed. We will find out soon.

It's the feel that counts not the sound unless you shoot with no ear protection then after a few shots you will have to go by the feel.

I know this. But the more the click the more high vibration from the click at reset. I.E. Tactile reset feel. It hardly has a feel right now.

Shoot faster and you wont notice the reset. Seriously. If you "shoot to the reset" you are being slowed down.

Anyway. I forgot to get video before installing the new trigger return spring. I installed a new Apex hard sear with it. The reset feel is back.

Mine do not have audible reset...as long as they reset it doesn't matter if you hear it or not...when I put the APEX kits in the resets became even less audible.
