Default Reloading for a .40 M&P Shield

Hi there. I fairly new at reloading and just bought a new Shield. I have used my reloads in my Fnp 40 but with my Shield and it'd shorter barrel length. I loaded at the lower end of the specs. Should I have any concerns using these in my Shield?

Thanks for the input.

Here is what I used.

Loading .40 is not for the faint at heart. You will be good with your loads and the lower end of the spectrum.
But I would try to find some Accurate No.2 or No.7 for use in a short barrel application like the Shield.

These powders will give you a fast burn rate with less felt recoil.
Very clean burning powder as well.
Start low and work your way up watching for pressure signs.

I use Power Pistol, Long Shoot and Tite Group with all good success. Load the same for my shield as I do for my FS .40.

You my want to post this in the reloading forum.

Thanks for the response. Sorry for my late response, I was traveling. I will try what I have and see how it works.

Default I read this this morning on the internet.

Hi,I was looking for an accurate weight in 40 s&s.This is what I found. The 165gr is really the optimum choice for .40S&W shooters. It tends to be more accurate, have greater muzzle energy and momentum, and it significantly reduces the dangers associated with possible bullet setback (a bullet can, through normal handling, seat itself more deeply just by being loaded into the chamber of a gun, etc). I think you'll see the 180gr loads become less and less popular as time goes on, and within a few years the 165gr will be the standard for the .40S&W, while the 180gr will be all but extinct Squib

I'm running 5.2grains of IMR sr7625 under a 165 grain xtreme plated at 1.125. Tried wsf which was dirty and blasty and bullseye which was dirty and a lot of sharp recoil. I just picked up some power pistol which hopefully will perform well... I really need a chronograph.
