The .45 is something I have been wanting to add to my stable. Please read through my reply for 78Staff - I suspect the .45 will come before lasers.

I've been struggling with a couple of things with lasers and lights... first being the cost of getting the molds and the time to figure getting the retention right and second... not actually a huge amount of call for them. The time really being the biggest issue as I am currently flat out, I would ideally like to be able to do everything, but that will take... time .

In fact, I'm struggling to keep up with demand right now and had to kick my lead time to ten days... looks like it's about to go 14. I just also got a batch of orders from two local PD's as word of mouth spread from somewhere.

(I'm not complaining - it's a good problem to have!)

In short, it would be when I get to it which will be when things slow down.

If you want to drop me a mail and I can put you on my contact list for when I get time I can let you know and see if you still need them.

I wish I could be more help than that!

I have contacted Surefire and Lasermax, as well as with a bit of luck will get something from them as well as Viridian. Been getting asked a lot lately and it just occurred to me to go direct and see if they have some non working models I can use.

Do you (or anyone) know of the 1911 TA comes out the same size as other 1911's with rails? Getting hold of a direct mold of it is proving problematic.

As far as I have been able to determine, yes - same as a Colt or Kimber or normal railed Springfield, or at least very close. For an holster with light, there would be some leeway anyway if I understand correctly since the tension occurs on the light itself. For a non-light rail holster, the dimensions might be a bit more critical, but pretty much every holster company I've looked at has grouped the S&W TA in with the standard Colt 1911 w/rail" option.

Excellent. Thank you. I will look into it further and see what I can find in the way of a dummy/mold gun. I don't have a 1911, would love the excuse to buy one...

Yes, the retention is done with the light itself as it's wider than the trigger guard, so it has to be blocked out over the trigger guard to allow it to come out... and the trigger guard is where retention normally is.

That's going to be some fun getting that right.

Looks like I have some Veridian lasers coming, waiting to hear back on Surefire and Lasermax.

I just came across this thread and am impressed with the attention to detail of the Overwatch Treadstone. Just ordered one from Ian for my Shield. Looking to replace my Crossbreed Supertuck with something that is easier on/off.

Took me a while to find the balance on the clip of being easy enough to get off while at the same time it's not going to come free from the belt.

That's kind of what drove me to doing the clip holsters first, the one I had was just clamped too strong to get the thing off, and when I asked around a lot of people had that issue with this kind of holster.

That's not to say every other holster of this style is like that, not by a long shot.

Default Got my Treadstone holster

Got my Treadstone holster for my M&P Shield. It was everything I could have wanted. It is easy to put on & remove, yet has the comfortably of those "all day" hybrids.

The clip is awesome. I hardly feel the holster on. Being in Florida, went with the full body guard.

This holster stands out above others not just because of quality, but because of Ian. We exchanged some phone calls and e-mails about questions and concerns I had. He was always available and very helpful. He showed interest and concern for what I had to say. He asked questions & LISTENED. I landed up getting EXACTLY what I needed.

Ian seems to be trying to stay at the cutting edge. While voicing my requests and questions, I believe he was taking them very seriously for future modifications and products.

If you want what is already out there. To buy what is shown with very little to no contact with the designers, there are plenty of companies out there. For me, along with the quality of the holster, I liked talking to the designer. I was able to voice some requests. It was a great give & take experience. I am looking forward to his future products and modifications. I'm going to access his site, regularly, to see his latest. He is definitely not a follower.

Just got an Overwatch Treadstone for my fs mp9....it's wonderful

I'm currently sitting on my couch with it at 4:00 position....aside from the sweat guard touching my skin, I can't really tell it's there. I also tried it at 2:00 and 10:00 and it's still quite comfy.....10:00 probably the best for standing/walking.

Overall, I'm very satisfied

Also, i asked my girlfriend to point to where she thought my gun was. With a semi-tight polo shirt (untucked), I did a 360° turn at 5feet raising and lowering my arms. She pointed at the 2:00 position........then she frisked me and found it at 4:00......

Edit: Here's a few pics of mine
