Default Adjusting windage on M&P22 rear sight

My rear sight, similar to the front, moves easily once the set screw is loosened (unlike our full-size M&P). Any ideas out there as to how I can move the sight laterally a given amount? In my case I probably have to move left on the order of 1.5mm since I'm 2.5" out laterally at 7 yards. I do have a micrometer and I suppose I could clamp a small piece of flat stock to the side of the slide so I have a flat surface opposite the sight.

Any other thoughts? My wife's M&P22, BTW, is dead on

Use a sight pusher tool if you can find one that fits it.

On other M&P's sight adjustment is made on the front sight...consult the book that came with it when you bought it and see if that's how you should be adjusting the sights.

A sight pusher tool won't work on the 22 since once the set screw is loose the sight slides easily - no sight pusher tool required. Probably wouldn't be a good idea to use the tool with the set screw still partially engaged in the Al slide?

Leave the set screw slightly touching/contacting, so the sight can be tapped and moved. This way you can move the sight left or right and it should stay put as you retighten. I don't think a micrometer is necessary as the amount of movement does not need to be that precise. Remember the front sight moves the POI opposite the direction of movement while the rear moves the same direction. Move the rear sight right, the POI moves to the right. The amount the sight has to be moved depends on the distance to the target. It will be trial and error, until you get it set to where your POA and the POI are correct.

Page 22 of the owners manual describes site adjustment . The rear site is fully adjustable for height and windage.
