Question Shield 9mm Grip

I am thinking about putting a slip on grip on my wife's Shield 9mm. I am looking at the Hogue Handall grip, but I am not sure if it will fit the Shield. I see that it fits the M&P but it does not say Shield. Has anyone used any slip grips for their Shield's?

I have one that I Just bought and it works great. More control and more stock to grip. Has improved my score and comfort. I think that a woman can handle it. It is a Hoage designed for a S & W Shield and fits great.

I prefer to keep the grip thin, which is why I bought the Shield in the first place. For better grip, I just cut 2 pieces of skateboard tape to fit the front and rear outlined areas. Work great.

I think you will be better served with the Talon rubberized grips. They add virtually no thickness to the grip, and do not move around as the Hogue Handall is prone to do.

I'm a cheap skate, I use a piece of old bicycle inner tube. I've been using tubing cut to fit for years, just cut to fit and clean it up well with alcohol before using.
Got fancy with a paper hole punch awhile back and perforated patterns into a piece on my g23.

Talon rubberized grip. Problem solved. It's perfect and not a silly slip cover.

Had the Handall Jr. and liked it until it split right under the trigger guard. Replaced it with the Pachmayr and like it even better, a little softer rubber. With my hand size, the Pachmayr works perfect for me.

My Shield has a Talon Decal Grip. NICE!

I just purchased a 1" x 2 foot long strip of 3-M LADDER SAFETY TAPE

at ACE HARDWARE, they sell it by the foot. They also had 2" wide and 3" or 4" wide.

I put a vertical strip on the front strap of a non checkered 1911.

Makes 2 of us, Sir! A clean piece of bicycle tube is all you need. You custom fit a piece to any grip you choose. One tube will make a LOT of grip sleeves and they work as well or mostly better than any I've tried. You need a good sharp scissors and a new bike tube.

Default Rubber slip grip

I too used the bicycle inner tube grip for not only my MP Shield but also for a new Glock 42. For additional bulk I added a second narrower band over the first one to add a little palm swell. There is a good use for old mountain bike inner tubes.

So, talon rubberized or granulated? I think I'd prefer rubberized - do those provide enough traction, or is granulated better?

I choice the Talon Rubberized for my EDC Shield and have not been disappointed. Did not want to take a chance on the Granulated (skate tape) being to rough and causing discomfort while IWB carrying. You can increase the tackiness of the Rubberized grip by cleaning it with Rubbing Alcohol.
