Grip for M&P22 Compact
I have the Pachmayr slip-on for my regular M&P22 and really like it. Anybody found one that fits the new Compact version correctly?
They list one for the Shield, and wasn't sure if that would work or not.

Anybody have both the M&P22 Compact and a Shield? I would've thought so...how close are they to the same size?

I'll give it one more bump.
Anybody have another handgun that's similar in grip size to the M&P Compact?
My compact Glock isn't a good match due to width. Just wondering if I can buy something already on the market meant for a different pistol.
They have one that's listed for these models:
S&W M&P Shield, Ruger SR22, Walther PPS, Taurus PT 704 Slim, Taurus PT 709 Slim
Anybody have the Compact and one of those?
ETA: actually, here's the whole list...maybe somebody will have an idea:

Either the one for the baby glock or the one for the full size m&p and then trim the length. The shield is a good bit thinner.

The M&P22 Compact is a lot thinner than the Walther full sized M&P22.
By visual inspection, it is very close to the thickness of the M&P Shield. I didn't have anything to measure with while viewing them both side by side, at the gun store.

Well...in case anybody is interested, here's what I did.
I really like the Tactical Grip Glove that Pachmayr makes for the M&P fullsize handguns. It works perfect on my M&P22. I looked at the chart above without really looking at the products themselves. The version I have has finger grooves made into the rubber grip.
I considered the Shield version, but realized it was flat:
And then the Glock models, but they have grooves for the finger grips already on the handguns:
I noticed in the reviews at least one person mentioned trimming the fullsize to fit their M&P Compact. So...since I already have the fullsize M&P version here, I tried it on the M&P22 Compact. As expected, it was a little too long, and wasn't a right fit due to the slimmer grip of the Compact.
Trimmed a little off the front of the top to give access to the mag release, then cut a strip off the bottom just by following the groove that was there. The grip thickness issue was handled by a couple wraps of electrical tape. The end result works for me. If Pachmayr does release one, I'll buy it since it's only ~$10, but I'm happy with what I have. Both pistols now feel the same. Just waiting to choose an adapter to buy.

You can also use a bicycle inner tube and make your own custom one.

I've done that on Glocks that already had the finger grooves. Works well.
Just don't know that I'd try to mold my own finger grooves and then cover it with tube...although it may be fun to try.

M and P 22 compact grip too small
Love the M and P 22C but the grip feels small for my wide hands.I was surprised at the guns and ammo review that said it felt comfortable to all of their testers hands. The thread below does not directly answer this 22C grip fit problem as I read it. HELP please I really want a 22C but I need it to fill my hand better as the M and P 9C does perfectly. I do not want to go to the S / W Walther M and P 22. My first posting, please help, Smith Forum folks.
Thanks
