Is this supposed to happen?
When re-assembling the gun is it normal for the M&P 9 Pro take down lever/tab to automatically go back into place when you pull back the slide, instead of pushing it up as shown in the manual?
I noticed that the take down tab likes to move back up on it's own sometimes and then when I pull it back, it just goes into place on it's own, no touching/pushing up required.
I'm loving the gun so far though!

I am not an expert, I just got a 9 Pro CORE and mine does exactly what you're describing 100% of the time on reassembly.
I didn't expect it because I've had my Shield 9 for over a year and it has never done that.
I'm not too worried about it, but still haven't gotten used to it yet

Not a feature, but sometimes they do that. It's not a problem.

I had it get stuck out of position closing unexpectedly like that. I hold it down now until I'm ready.

My FS and Compact often do this. As Rastoff say, It's not a design feature, it just happens. Just like autoforward.

I don't understand what you mean. The slide stop on the XD works exactly the same as the M&P.

This does not happen on my '09 M&P, but did on the 9c and '12 vintage fs I have both sold, as well as my wife's Shield and my Pro Series. And yes, sometimes they bind up durring reassembly.
