I have a MP 357sig full size that I've had for nearly 3 years and only have put 250-300 rounds through it.
I'm looking to replace it with a Shield 9 or a MPc9. I was thinking about trading it in for which ever I decided to get. But the LGS told me that it would be a tough sale and wouldn't be interested in trading for it.
What can I get for it or where in the DFW area can I go to possibly trade it?
Better bet is to keep it and buy the 9mm shield. When funds permit buy a 9mm and 40cal barrel for the full size. Then for range time, ammo shortage, or SHTF you have 3 caliber's covered with one gun.
I agree with only the 357 sig barrel it would be a more difficult sale. Unless you find the right buyer a quick sale could co$t you.
Never sell a gun that functions reliably unless its to put food on the table. They are like savings bonds, one day it's value may save your life, but your sure to take a loss if you sell now.
Buds Gun Shop online takes trades all the time and they don't rip people off. Why don't you call them? They probably won't give you an exact price unseen, but if you ship it to their trade-in department they will...
I agree with not trading the gun. A Storm Lake barrel is about $150. Considering that they don't make the .357Sig anymore, you might be able to get $100 by selling just the barrel in the Classified section here.
I know at midway I can get a factory SW barrel for less than $90.
If that was so, then why are there so many threads about how to find the 9mm barrels? All the distributors, big and small have not sold any stock M&P barrels for a LONG time. S&W is not releasing the barrels to the distributors.
