This is what I use for SC, USPSA (open and limited).
Safariland 014 (first picture) the second picture is a Blade Tech competition that I used before I got the Safariland, and I still use it when I use my 4.25" M&P (the Safariland won't adjust short enough for the 4.25")

Joe,
After several start and stops with different holsters for steel challenge and my M&P pro 9L I ended up with this Blade Tech holster on a double alpha belt.
Blade-Tech DOH Dropped and Offset Holster Right Hand Smith & Wesson M&P Pro 9mm ASR Black
Product #: 246202
I am not sure what the inside of this holster is coated with but its very slick and allowed for desired cant. I went through both a Fobus and Blackhawk holster prior. I found I liked the blackhawk better than the Fobus after I deactivated the retention actuator on the Blackhawk but of course retention or total lack of made this setup undesireable.
The Blade tech solved my problems, it was a little more spendy but worthy every penny and wish I would of gotten here sooner with the Blade tech.
good luck

The Blade Tech speed holster I pictured in an earlier post only covers the top of the front sight and the pistol can be moved forward after only an inch or so of upward pull. (still too long for me, the Safariland 014 only requires a fraction of an inch of upward movement to release). The holster you pictured is what you want if you shoot IDPA, it conforms to their rules. So many choices, it comes down to you have to have a holster for every different type of shooting you do.
