Default Shield Conversion Barrel Update

I read somewhere on the forums earlier this year that KKM and Storm Lake are both coming out with barrels for the shield later this year. Well it's December and I decided to contact both of them. I asked if they plan on making conversion barrels for the Shield, including a 357sig barrel. Storm Lake replied and said they will add me to the wait list (whatever that means), and wouldn't respond after I asked for clarification.

KKM gave me this response: "After buying the Shield and inspecting the barrel they were just too small for our current machinery. We now have no plans for producing them at this time. We apologize for getting everyone's hopes up."

Thank you, I still have faith Storm Lakes will produce a conversion barrel at some point. You have to keep in mind the Shield is not even 3 years old yet...

Wow.. I like having another barrel for my guns. I like the polished look. I have two barrels for my FS M&P 9 and SD9VE. One is stock and the other is polished to a mirror finish. I called S&W to get another shield 9mm barrel to have on hand and they would not sale me one.

Yeah... S&W stopped selling them to anyone (owners, Distributors, Gunsmiths, ANYone) well over a year ago (maybe 2 now?)

I for one, am not holding my breath for Storm Lake coming up with one any time real soon. Saying they will add you to the wait list basically is another way of saying "We'll add you to our press release email when we (aka: if we ever) add it to our lineup".
