Shield 9mm no safety. Slide moves when trigger pull
Hey guys just recently purchased a new shield 9mm. I notice when I dry fire the frame sorta expands at the rear of the gun and the slide moves just a tad to the left. Any ideas. It's minimal but I just happened to notice it yesterday.

Must be the day for minute slide movement threads...
No sweat, you'll never know it when it fires.
The real question is how much will YOU move the gun just before it fires? These little striker guns need good trigger control and follow-through for best results, and they will take out your coffee cup at 15yds.

Yup... Many say the gun's shooting left and it (usually) ends up that they're twisting the pistol to the left during trigger press.
Since you're already dry firing to get used to the trigger... Watch to see how much the front sight moves during dry fire and adjust your finger placement accordingly, so you achieve a straight rearward press. You'll be ahead of the others.

Can't understand how the slide could bulge, it's made of steel. Do you mean it's drifting to the left?
I'd strip down the gun and look for any wear points inside. Maybe your sear block isn't seated properly. Check the frame slide rails.

The slide is tipping just slightly to the left. As you pull the trigger back, the trigger bar contacts the striker blocker and pushes it up. The striker blocker is on the right side of the slide and as the right side slightly rises, it appears the slide is tilting/shifting to the left. It is moving, but just slightly and it is designed to do that. They can not engineer all the play out of the guns, or they would not operate properly with only minimal clearances. When shooting and the slide moving back and forward, heat is generated, which causes the metal to expand. With minimal clearances the slide would eventually lock up. The gun is fine and the small movement is in all the guns. It will shoot properly without any problems.

Think I found the issue. It appears that the trigger bar is rubbing against the frame where there is a little lip under the trigger block. There is notable scratches there. And that's why its pushing the slide. When I push the slide to the right it stops. My only guess is the rails are off alignment.

No purposely just dry firing to play around. I'm doing it to find the issue that I been having since firing.

Dry fire all you want, it won't hurt anything. Go out and shoot it. If you have an issue, then you have a reason to report back. I doubt there is anything wrong with the gun. You can look for an issue that is not there. And I seriously doubt the rails are misaligned.
