Default M&P Pro Series Core 9mm

Hey all,
Looking at getting a M&P Pro Series Core in 9MM. Reason I would like one is because I want to use it with my silencer I have coming this summer and I like my Shield.

Will a threaded barrel work on the 4.25" M&P or do I need to go to the 5" Barrel M&P? Seems like all the threaded barrel sites I have looked at doesn't really give me the option for which model.

The 4.25" is cheaper than the 5" on the sites I have looked at and probably will be buying from.

Thanks guys. Sorry for the newb question, Just trying to understand

There are threaded 4.25 and 5.00 inch barrels. Obviously they are longer than the specified length (the 4.25 is something like 4.61) and the 5 is 5.36. (or something like that, each barrel manufacturer is a bit different depending on what they're intending to screw onto the barrel, I believe the pitch on a silencer is different than the pitch on a compensator. You need to ask the manufacturer a bunch of questions.

Yeah, I was looking at Storm Lake and KKM Precision. They have options to select for the suppressor threading but really dont specify the barrel that I would need for either one.

Are there any other good barrel manufacturers I should look into before making my final decision?

Thanks!
Carl

S&W currently do a 4.25" M&P with a spare threaded barrel.
Product: Smith & Wesson M&P®9 - Threaded Barrel Kit
I would only buy a CORE for competition.
Bar-Sto are another option.

I find that some of the product descriptions are vague and the only way to figure it out is to call them directly. Maybe it's cheaper just to have someone on the sales staff make the descriptions than to have someone with a double digit IQ do that.

The problem is that the photos I have seen of the current M&P pistols with threaded barrels (SKUs 150922, 150923) do NOT show suppressor (tall) sights. Thus, the pistols are "not ready" out of the box.

Given the difficulty in removing or replacing S&W M&P sights, I believe I would get the CORE and replace the barrel, rather than getting the M&P with the extra threaded barrel and then having to replace the sights with sights from the CORE.

Plus, then you have the option of mounting an RMR, which is a great idea.

Yes Shawn perfectly correct you need higher sights and/or red dot to aim over the suppressor.

Yep! My thoughts exactly about the higher sights. Plus I may want to get a red dot in the future. I really appreciate all the help and feedback. Im going to email/call some of the companies this week and see what I hear!

Thanks again guys!

What barrel do you all recommend for the SilencerCO Osprey in a 4.25" CORE? I too have looked at Storm Lake but am wondering (since this is only my 2nd suppressor) what else I need to consider. Thanks for the help.
