Default Picked up my first M&P

First off, I'm not a fanboy of any manufacturer. I have Glocks, a S&W 637-2, a Sig P229, and a Baby Desert Eagle compact. I like what I like, and I like each pistol for different reasons. That said, I shot a friend's M&P 9c a few months ago and found that I shoot it just as well or better than some of my other pistols. I knew I had to have one. I don't compete (yet) so I opted for the compact for my conceal carry rotation. I found a carbon fiber version at the gun show yesterday BNIB for $500. Idk what it is, but I'm drawn to carbon fiber. It matches my X-Bolt. I hope to shoot it later this week.

I found the Compact had a great fit in my hand with either medium or large palm inserts. I got mine in the Flat Dark Earth/Black and sometimes find myself just staring at it. Enjoy!

That was an option too, but I talked myself out of it. For now, anyways. I May go FDE when I decide to get a 40c too.

I carry a .40 M&P full size, have over 12,000 rounds through it. S&W did right with these models. Enjoy!

M&P's fit my hands better than any other gun. I am sure glad they are excellent guns overall. I have three now and find myself shooting my other guns less and less.

Congrats on your new pistol. I bet you are going to enjoy it.

please do us a favor and take some more pictures of that carbon fiber finish. personally i'm not a fan of it, but i'm super curious as to what it really looks like up close and how it compares to the traditional frame coloration. Is texture comparable?

I was under the impression, from the S&W website, that the frame is polymer and the CF is just a paint job to look like CF.

That's correct. It's hydrographics.

It's just hydrographics. There is no texture difference between this one and a standard.

Finally got to the range Friday and put 200 rounds of cheap GECO (RWS) 124gr FMJ through it. I'm impressed. The trigger is a little heavy, but I'm used to Glocks with springs/connectors. POI is a touch off, but that's likely me. I wasn't shooting for groups, mainly just getting the feel for it. I'm in love. She's a keeper. I think I'll call her Mandi.

And beside her safemate, Ginny.
