Default M&P C.O.R.E Performance Center + RMR problem

Hey, just seeing if anyone else is having this issue and/or if they have a solution for me.

I'm having issues with the gas from the barrel ports sparying my sight and making it foggy/muddled. Any ways to prevent this from happening?

Thanks!

Good reason to stay away from ports. Sorry.

I don't care for ports on any pistol or revolver. Too much chance of debris in your eye if you shoot from a close in or hip position. The manual even warns of this.

Hmmm, Jerry Miculek doesn't think so.

Maybe I'm using too much lube?!? I usually just drop a bead on the rails and let it slide over everything.

It's part of having an optic on a pistol, it will happen without the ports. I keep a bunch of the individually wrapped alcohol pads in my range bag as well as some tissue, I clean it off when it gets bad. I can normally do a complete match of 2-300 rounds before it gets so bad that I can't see clearly.

I hope we don't base all our decisions on "Jerry's say so"
He may have been a crack shot, but...

This has nothing to do with the RMR , right? Just the stock front sight getting dirty ? The porting will dirty up a front site with rounds fired . Jerry's porting is from magna port and they use a little different angle to there porting that helps a bit but still it gets a front sight dirty to with enough shooting . But doubt jerry's using the iron sights as the votex optic sits to high to see them anyhow !!

Want to stop it ?? But a stock barrel .

My guess is, it is just part of maintenance. So many rounds require a cleaning, just like the gun requires cleaning and lube. Jerry doesn't mention it because it isn't an issue, it's just maintenance. It's not like you blast a magazine and can't see..
