Default Recoil spring assembly no improvement

Fired over 100 rounds and still have a problem locking the slide back manually for takedown and inspection. Is there a lighter RSA or some other fix. Please help. Thanks

You mean a problem in that its still stiff, or that it binds up and mechanically won't go all the way back?

If it binds up, you should get a replacement or go for one of the aftermarket recoil sprint assemblies.

Shield? 100 rounds really isn't a lot to try and loosen it up. I would suggest leaving it locked back for a while, and shooting it more. If you think there's a problem, send it back and they'll replace it, but don't know if that will fix your problem if its just tight and not messed up.

Bob O - it's still very stiff and takes a lot of effort to pull it all the way back to the lock position. Other than that it works flawlessly

that is really not going to change... either get used to it or ship it.. cause it ain't broke.. use your empty mag to lock it back, then remove the mag when you remove the slide.

A different technique may help. I hold the pistol in my right hand (dominant hand) and it's pointed straight to the left. I hold my left hand over the slide, behind the breech opening. With one motion, I quickly cross my hands in front of me, and shove the gun to the left and pull the slide to the right. At the same time, my right thumb is applying just a little upward pressure on the slide stop. It locks open pretty easily for me doing it this way.

It will loosen up a little after 300-500 rounds (I have about 500 +/- through mine). Keeping the slide locked back while storing it helps some, too.

Try pushing up on the slide lock prior to racking the slide back. This takes the timing factor out of the equation. Smaller guns are obviously harder but I'm sure you'll get the hang of it.

Try 900 more rounds and reevaluate.

It should NOT be difficult to lock back.
