I don't think so......I bought mine over 1 1/2 years ago for $400 out the door. I think you should be able to find them closer to $350. Bod's Guns cash price is $369

I got mine at Great Lakes Outdoor Supply (4 locations in Ohio) in a one day sale for $299 plus tax for either Shield 9 or Sheild 40. Have not see it for that price any where since. I should have bought a bunch of em, but then I think they had already sold out of the 40 by the time I got there less than an hour after the sale started and they only had about three of the 9mm left.

If I was in the market for a shield, I would hold out until the upcoming release of the glock 43 and see if that affects the price on the shield.

As mentioned a good "street price" is in the $350 range, if you qualify for the S&W LE/Mil or other first responder category, you should be able to get closer to $325.
If time allows, waiting to see what the G43 does to the market sounds like a good idea.
If it makes anyone feel any better, I paid more than those above

See what the best FFL Fee is in your area, then add that to the best online price you can find (+ shipping, of course) (many times, Buds ships for free). If the online price + shipping + FFL Fee is NOT less than $400, go with Academy.
If there's a real LGS close by, see if they'll match the online price + shipping. Many times, my LGS will match whatever online price (+ shipping) I bring them.

2 local gun show dealers where I live sell them for $339+tax. I rarely by from retail dealers or lgs anymore because of the prices I can get at shows

I expect to see prices on all single stack 9's to drop after the Glock 43 is released.

That's $20 more than I paid for my full sized M&P 9 when they first came out.

LGS here in Florida has multiple sales per year and it always $369 for the Shield in 9 or 40. Regular price at this store is $399. Since the MSRP is $449, the price of $399 is about a 10% discount.

I got mine from Impact Guns for 348, 10 for shipping, and 10 only if you present your CCW for the transfer at my FFL. 368 in all... I don't think they have that deal anymore though.

I will join in the chorus saying that $399 isn't a good deal for a Shield. In fact, it's higher than most places I've seen, MSRP notwithstanding. Most local gun shops and online dealers sell it in the $359-379 range from what I've seen.
I paid $359 + tax for mine last summer from a local gun shop in central North Carolina, which seemed to be a good price back then. Gun prices seem to have stayed the same or even come down a little bit on average since then.
I'd shop around...even a local gun shop surely has it for that or less. Unless, perhaps, you live in an area were gun prices always run high for various reasons.

Gunbuyer.com has them for $339 shipped right now. Best deal I've seen so far.

My LGS store has 'em listed for $385 +Tax ($418). But if I were to show them the '$339 Shipped' online price, they'd try to match it, just to keep my business. They've done it before with my other gun purchases.
I doubt if Academy would Price match, but if you have a Non-Chain LGS (or FFL Pawn Shop), they might.
