What LEO's carry a M&P 40 Compact?
So I just bought a M&P 40 compact police trade (for $300!!, we'll see the condition and if the night sites work) and just wondering what departments or LEO's would carry these? I don't think uniformed officers would carry these would they or do you think they were carried by undercover's?

The FBI has gone to 9mm so expect other departments to follow. I really don't believe there is any use for .40 S&W when .357 Sig is superior. The market will be awash with .40's. 9mm JHP has so many advantages including capacity and cost. YMMV Lots of .40 fanboys out there

I just ordered an M&P40c police trade in for $300 too. I ordered mine from Buds. Is that where you got yours from?

Many times detectives & support staff (CST, etc.) carry the compact.
I have a full size M&P40 that I got in a police trade in deal. It's in beautiful shape & shoots great.

Ya, used the make an offer option and brought the price down from $356 to $300. Glad I got it yesterday because it looks like they took the make an offer option that model.

Yeah, that's how I got mine too...used the "make an offer" button. I was ordering one of the Model 10's and the make an offer for the M&P40c popped up. I had been looking at it and trying to decide if I wanted it...I'm sure their site recognized that. I'm glad it did. I think $300 for that gun is a pretty good deal.
I'm a fan of the .40 cal. I have about 3 other .40's including an M&P full size that I bought off of Buds as a police trade in also, it's in great shape and shoots well. We carried the .40 in the Border Patrol, that's when I became a fan of the cartridge.

Several in my agency do carry the compact based on assignment and rank such as Chief, Deputy Chief, Investigator, School Resource Officer. Mostly anyone in a plain clothes assignment. All others carry the full size.

I got my M&P 40c yesterday, along with a Model 10 rb that I ordered from Buds. Both are in good shape, the M&P compact is in better shape than the Model 10...as I expected.
Only thing missing was it only came with the large backstrap. I'm going to call Smith and Wesson and order the small and medium. I've had good luck with them sending me small items for free when I call to order. Great customer service!
I'm going to try to get to the range today and see how it shoots.

Sorry for the delay in answering. I & he are one in the same. I'm about the last one left. At this time I'm the only Mod. Most of the guys who were very active are deployed. Then we had a real run of spam & lost a bunch to disgust but that's all cleared up. A bunch were very active until they actually went to BCT or OSUT & they had milked all the info & tips from the site & haven't returned.
