Default Thumbs up for M&P 22 compact!

Just got back from the range shooting the M&P 22 compact for for the first time. Put a mix of CCI, Aguila, and cheapo Federal totaling 230 rounds through it. Three light strikes, with no other issues. Believe it or not, all 3 light strikes occurred using the 40 Gr CCI ammo. Interestingly, the light strikes happened due to hitting the edge of the rim instead of nearer the center (not sure what caused that). Of the three brands I was certain I'd have problems with the Federal, but it ate it up like candy (although it sure is smokey when fired). I'm extremely pleased with the pistol, and would highly recommend it for anyone thinking about buying one.
PS: Guess I'll just use the CCI in my Ruger 10/22.

That's funny my 22C eats the 40GR CCI just fine. I have 1000 rounds of federal and are afraid to put it in the pistol LOL. Maybe I will next trip.

That is supposed to strike exactly on the rim, hence the name "rimfire". Kind of like a little rectangular pinch.

Glad you enjoyed it I sure enjoy mine.

Yea, those strikes were way on the edge - outside the extended outer plain of the casing. However, with only 3 light strikes out of that many rounds, I'm satisified for a .22 pistol.

Edit: I should mention all three brands were 40Gr.

For your reference here is a spent CCI 22LR was a 40GR, struck with a M&P 22 Compact:

Thanks for the picture. The missed (light) strikes were further out along the edge of the brass.
