Default MP9c Wear

11013059_10152826717322473_5144687389652081893_n.jpg11050662_10152826720602473_4696523034706407361_n.jpgNew member. Ill put some info on the new member section of the forum soon...

Long story short I just bought an MP9C, had a few hundred rounds through it, and I just recently put hundreds through it. It is my new go to carry gun, mainly IWB, sometimes OWB. Awesome gun btw, I couldn't be happier. I had a Kahr PM9 and paid 700 bucks for it, sold it, and got this, and Im much happier.

Anyways, I have some wear on the gun now. Nothing serious but when I bought my Glock 22 used ( I live in MA so all the relatively cheap glocks are old and preban and worn) I sent it into glock and they replaced all of the internals with any wear for a small fee of about 40 bucks I think. I'm seeing if SW had anything similar or maybe if someone had some info on what parts to replace after 1k or 2k rounds. Some guns offer a manual that lets you know what parts to replace.

After 1 or 2 thousand rounds the only thing you need to replace is the ammo. Ask the question when you get to 15 + thousand rounds

Here's a link to a thread I did last fall, it will give you some idea how a M&P will last. 9mm Core at 60K The compact is really no different than a FS. I've since lost the pistol in that thread to my wife. It has around 90K on it. I built a new gun to take its' place.

Yup, those little wear marks are normal. I just put a tiny dab of lube on them.

One of the design features of the M&P is that all those parts can be replaced you can't do that with a Glock and some other guns. However that being said I've never heard of anyone wearing out a polymer gun yet

You will notice in the manual that the "wear" spots you pointed out are the spots that S&W recommends a drop of lube. You're not likely to wear this gun out any time soon.
By the way, welcome.

I have, but only a gun that was poorly cared for and abused intentionally. Eventually everything will give out with enough time.

Bkreutz will let us know when that point is reached for an M&P.

I can tell you that a 9c can go at least 10k rounds. Mine did. It got a new trigger bar and hardened sear because I wanted it to "feel" better.

I have a new recoil spring ready. Nothing else.

Maybe not, I've retired the Core at 90K rounds (actually my wife is shooting it, but she won't do matches so it doesn't get much use). My new one (the one I built last winter) is going to be the real acid test. The core shot only standard load ammo (136 PF), my new one is shooting 9mm major (172 PF, 124gr slug at 1400 fps) so I'm putting more hammering on the whole pistol. We'll see how long it survives. (it is more fun than the old one though, just got back from a match, 300 rounds without a hitch)
