First off I'm new to reloading,my shield 40 liked 180gn fp which was loaded with 5.5gn of wsf. When i loaded some hornady xtp 180gn with 5.4gn of wsf it did not shoot very well both loads are hogdon starting loads. My ? is do i increase powder for the xtp's and if so can you give me a starting point to save me a little time. I know all guns shoot different just trying to get an idea of what other shields are shooting best. Thanks

unfortunately since each firearm is unique hard to say what is best. you have to work up & see what happens. no guarantee it will get better with that powder/bullet combo even though they are the same weight as they are different styles

Thanks for the reply. I think i will just reload my plinker rounds and stick with my federal hst for my carry rounds. I'm sorry for posting this in the wrong forum.
