Default Bodyguard 380 w/laser issue!

Ordered the 380 w/laser online and had it sent to my ffl. Brought it home today and took it out and was looking it over. While looking it over I pressed the laser button on the left side for on/blink/off, it worked fine, held the pistol up in fire position to test right side with my right finger and the laser came on and stayed on and wouldn't do anything else. I tried pressing the buttons multiple times and the right side seemed to just be stuck. I live close to my ffl so I took it back and we stripped the gun and pulled the laser assembly out, at which time the laser shut off. It failed to turn back on again. The sticker on top of the laser says July 2014, I wonder if the batteries had just enough to get it going and died, but still the button on the right does not work. You can feel the clicking in the left side but not the right. It was too late to contact s&w but I was wondering what they do in this type of situation. Will I have to send them the gun or can they just send me a replacement laser assembly? I've done some searching and haven't come up with anything.

Sorry so long with the story but I am a little disappointed at the moment. I have a 9mm Shield and love it and had hoped that this would be is little pocket brother.

Thanks!

Did you change the batteries? I have a Viridian CL5 and thought it had broke, had the phone number ready to call and thought I would change the batteries even though hadn't been long since changing them and "Presto" it worked .. would have really felt like a buffoon if I would have called first !!

I have one with the Insight and one with the CT laser. The Insight had many problems, including buttons. Sent it back to Smith, and they will make it right. They did mine. Took about 2.5 weeks.

No I didn't swap them out to test, but regardless if the batteries are good or not, the one side button doesn't click or respond. The laser needs to be swapped. Calling tomorrow. Thank you for the reply.

Call them and they'll give you instructions on sending the laser back, and they'll send you a new one to replace it no charge. You don't need to send the gun back.

Default Great service

Just wanted to post an update. I sent my laser and batteries back, and after about 2.5 weeks I received a new laser kit and another set of books. Awesome job S&W, couldn't be happier.
