I have sinned
For give me my fellow M&P shooters and forum members but today I have sinned. There was a Stainless Steel Colt Gold Cup National Match in the gun case at the range and with all my post about my M&Ps not being Bullseye guns I just had to have this thing. Oh and it shoots so sweet. Don

Not all sins are necessarily bad (maybe).
This one seems to prove the point.
Congrats

No sin involved here . Just opening your eyes to something other than one brand of mid level handgun and enjoying something different and new .

Well, if folks end up in purgatory for buying pretty guns, I guess I'll see you there! I've got a bright stainless Gold Cup sitting in the safe that I bought for no other reason than it looked so darn good. And to tell the truth, my other M1911, a Colt Tactical IPSC 10th anniversary gun was the same story.
I'm pretty sure it's okay to be a fan of more than one brand, particularly when both have rich heritages like S&W and Colt. Go shoot your new toy, and.....

Well I would love to take a picture of it but it seams that the battery in my Stack On pistol safe has went dead and I don't have a clue where I hid the keys. They will send me a new one for $10 if I send the receipt from when I bought it 3 years ago. Don't have it. The serial number which is on the back and it is bolted to the wall. Got to open it to unbolt it. So I am going to be doing a Easter egg hunt the rest of the day. Dang there is 6 guns in there I like to shoot. Need a safe cracker. Don

I think it would have been a sin if you didn't get it, Don.
Good luck in getting that safe open. I use a steel box with a good padlock on it. I have spare key on my car key ring & one on my house & misc. key ring & one well hidden in close proximity to the safe.

For my digital stack-on safe, I put one key in my safe deposit box, and one in my car, in the combination lock gun safe.

Well thanks I hope it still looks like that when the blast goes off. It is the first gun inside the door all the rest are M&Ps so we know they will be ok. Don

Yes that is my next move if I ever find the 4 keys. I have two of the safes, bought a lot of guns this year, and I think I will put a key for one safe in the other safe thinking they both won't give up at the same time. Then put the other set where I might find them if I forget the next day. Getting old sucks. By the time I find the keys I won't recognize the guns that are in the safe. Don

Salt for the wound....
Seriously, come Monday I'd be hiring a locksmith if I hadn't found the keys. Good luck!

Jim that's what I am going to have to do this has really become serious. I have my first IDPA shoot coming up in just over a week and the Gold Cup was to be the gun I was going to use. I was nailing head shots in a 3/4 size IDPA target with no misses at 20 yds the first time I shot the Colt.
BTW I like the looks of your wood grips better then mine. Nice gun.

Don't know which model Stack On safe you have, but perhaps this video may help. And if it actually works, then that obviously raises other issues.

I don't know how to even thank you enough I am again a happy shooter and if any of you are using these Stack On and a couple other brands they are no safe. A paper clip and you can be in in 5 seconds. There is one by a security company you must watch if fact if you go to the one above there are several in the sidebar. DON

Post some pictures of the new acquisition!
I've been doing some research on safes and was surprised to see how many products out there offer almost no protection.

No need to post thanks to the good people on this site some of them posted pictures of their Cold Cups and the model with the rubber grip is a mirror image of mine.

I can truely say I will not be getting one with a electronic lock with a key back up. Not unless someone can tell me there is a better key system that can't be picked so easy. That security company show a lot of safes that were just as easy to get into. Even a high priced finger print reader one. I think my big gun safe will be the old fashion combo lock as long and there is not a pickable back up key lock on it. Don
