Still no butt plug for Shield?
The only thing I dislike about my shield is that ugly, useless, dirt collecting hole in the butt (pun intended) at the base of the grip.I contacted Pearce about a year and a half ago when I got my Shield to see if they were going to make a plug for the Shield similar to the one made for Glocks. They had no plans at the time to mfg. one but said they might if they got enough interest. Am I the only one? if not please contact them and let them know your interested. If someone knows of another source please let me know.I can't stand the HOOOLLLE...

Solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Is dirt in that hole really a problem? I had a Glock. I never had any dirt accumulate in that area.

Still don't know why this is a "thing". Just fill it with a little silicon and problem solved.

Not an issue for me. I generally use the 8-round mag, so it it covered by default.

come on guys!
It doesn't really bother me that much, was just trying to have some fun with my original post. However black silicone would look worse than the open hole.If you compare a glock with a plug and one without you would see how much nicer it looks. It's just a cosmetic thing with me.I think the open hole looks like there was a void in the molding of the grip, plus if you pocket carry much it tends collect a lot of fuzz.

I carried a Glock for years on duty. Never gave the "hole" a second thought. Also never noticed any crud build up in there either and frequently carried a G26 in pocket.

I had to go look to see the hole, and I'm a "gun fondler" so you'd think I would have noticed. Bondo and a black Sharpie should solve it.
But seriously, I have several times commented on the M&P line's general better looks than Glocks, but that leaves the bar pretty low from a firearms cosmetics perspective. I would be appalled if it was on my Python (very high on my Prettiest Guns Ever list, sorry S&W, love my 29 too!). But the butt, err... feature on the Shield in a non-issue for me.
