Default bodyguard question

I just bought my second bodyguard 380. When I barely pull the trigger back I hear a click. My other one does not do that. Any suggestions? Ty in advance.

Hard to guess what it is without seeing a video or the pistol in person. I'm trying to envision what you are experiencing.

Have you shot it yet? My guess is strip it down & give it a good cleaning. Get a can of Birchwood casey Gunscrubber & stick the straw tube in the striker channel clean out hole under the slide, shoot the gunscrubber iniside the frame in and around the trigger group while working the trigger back & forth. Shoot the gunscrubber in and around everything that moves in the frame, keep working the trigger. Shake it out & wipe dry with paper towels & lube according to the manual. I use FP-10 on my pistols, Rem oil on a terry cloth towel & wipe down the exterior when finished...

My guess is plastic flashing a burr or small machining particles is what you might be hearing.. Might even be a creaky trigger spring (or a trigger spring with dirt from manufactuering under it) that is begging to be broken it. But clean that thing out, lube it & shoot the heck out of it.

Have fun!

My second BG did the exact same thing. I took it apart and watched the action, and it looked like the trigger bar was hanging up on the receiver, but I wasn't sure. I had to send the gun back to S&W for other issues, and mentioned the trigger when I did, and it came back with that fixed. I would send it back. They're good about warranty work.

Hi David - What's up with your two Bodyguards? I was curious if you and 1911 ever figured out why you were having all the problems. Let us know, thanks! - Rick
