Default Range report: M&P 40 (+StormLake 9&357), Shield 9, M&P BG380, M&P 22

Went to the range with my M&P family.

Shield 9Happy to report zero firing issues outside of the M&P BG380 and Shield not locking back after last round.
This is the first time my shield has behaved that way, so I need to see if I can figure out why.
The BG380 has done that most of the time since I got it.

It is interesting to see the difference I have with the same firearm using different calibers.
I have the StormLake 9mm and 357sig conversion barrels for my 40.

All shots at roughly 2 shots per second after initial target acquisition.

I didn't count, but somewhere between 50-100 per caliber.

Good job & thanks for the report!

It looks like your attacker would have been dead, dead, dead, lol.

I went back to the range tonight with a neighbor and found out why my M&P Bodyguard and Shield 9 were not locking back after last round.

It turns out it is my grip. I had been practicing a higher grip after watching numerous videos. My thumb was riding the slide-lock with just enough drag to cause it to not catch.

I adjusted my thumb and both are now locking back after last round.

That happens on my M9. I use a thumb over thumb hold now because of shooting revolvers more and it just helping with certain platforms. It doesn't allow the pistol to sit as well as high thumbs, but oh well.

Can I ask what distance you were shooting at?
