Intermittent dimming with Lasermax for Shield
Has anyone else had a Shield Lasermax where the laser would go dim intermittently while at the range? While dry-firing at home, it never acted up, but about 50-60 shots into my range time, the laser was barely noticeable it got so dim. I tried it again after leaving it off for a while, and it was full brightness. It did this back and forth about three times then I just left it off. Sitting here at home again, it functions fine.

Could be a battery issue, or it could be circuitry.
Have you emailed/called Lasermax and asked?
They'll probably send a replacement, or fix it for you.

If the battery is wearing out and you shut it off for a while, it will slightly come back to life a little, but start to dim quickly. I have a Shield with a LaserMax and keep a spare battery in my range bag. Point of aim shifts very little or non at all when you change them out.

I agree that is it is most likely battery related. I have a Lasermax and Crimson Trace. When the battery gets low, I have the same problem with both, and fresh batteries solve the problem. The owners manual states the laser will lose intensity as the battery loses power. The red lasers are much more difficult to see the laser dot in bright sunlight.

Thanks for the comments. I should have been a tad clearer. When it went dim, it was instant. It wasn't gradual. I'll keep watching it while I dry fire, and then see how it performs at the range again before contacting them.
I'll post an update when I have more info.

Try swapping the battery anyway!
If the problem goes away, it was the battery,.
If it doesn't go away it's the unit, and you have the removed battery for a spare.

Used the LM at the range a few times, shut it off and put the Shield back under my pillow. after a few months I was showing it to a friend, no laser. I thought my battery was dead.
6 months later, I buy some bats from LM, and
I just changed it out.
battery was fine..........
laser goes out when cover is reinstalled, when cover removed, and with a little manipulation, laser pops back on.
evidently something is loose in the circuitry. I do remember a few flickers at the range, but thought little of it at the time.
seems we have a ****** product here. needs to be 100% reliable, or its of llittle use because confidence is important
its on a shield in 40, if thats relevant

Welcome to the Forum, meicalnissyen.
Zombie Thread!!
As I mentioned 2 1/2 yrs ago, when this thread was new, have you contacted Lasermax? They'll probably make it right.
What I didn't mention back then, was that this is exactly why I wouldn't rely on ANY electronic device on my Carry weapon. For dry fire practice, maybe... But not for actual carry.

And to follow up,
Laser max customer service is"not available to take your call" ( both civilian, and government voice prompt choices)
and the mail box is full, and not taking additional messages
Always a good sign
