Default It was the little bear that did it...

I was in Bud's retail store in lexington, KY right after Thanksgiving and they had a bunch of police trade-in M&P 40's with three mags on the shelf for $269. I passed at the time, but told myself I would probably be back after one. I went back on the 31st and they were now priced at $299. I gave myself a little mental kick for not buying one when they were $30 less and decided against one at the new price. I wandered the store a bit and ended up at the back counter where the LE and NFA stuff is.

There in the display case were some other M&P 40's, including what appeared to be new and unfired ones, also priced at $299. These came with three mags, the box and all the backstraps. The one I picked up had night sights dated 09 and looked like it had never even been cycled.

That was probably enough to convince me it was a good deal, but what really sold it was the little bear on the slide:

Call me silly, but there's just something about that little bear and the California State Parks logo that made me want to bring this particular gun home with me.

Not bad, not bad at all. Especially considering that very pistol is not legal for FFL sales to us common folk here in CA.

That is definitely a trade in (I don't know how you could tell it had never been racked, but I get the idea). Still, and excellent buy.

I'm sad that it was taken out of California though. We can't get them new here. So, to see a used one sold in another state means one less we can get here.

Great price, I paid $390 for a Premium condition M&P 40 police trade in from Bud's online this past August. It had a case fire date of 6-23-06. It was near mint with very little wear inside. The only knock would be that my night sights were very dim, but I ordered a set of Ameriglo Pro i-dot sights and replaced them.

Update: took it to the range last weekend and I am very pleased. It shoots my led bullets reloads very well and the handling is just fantastic. I have decided that the M&P guns are an ergonomic improvement over the blocky Glock frame.

I'm glad I bought it.

Man, that's great and the little bear is just the cherry on top of a fantastic deal.

Enjoy your new 40; I enjoy my Police Trade In I got from Bud's. You saved $50, mine was $349 at the time! Really liking that little bear, too! :-)
