Default S&W M&P 9mm/45acp/etc.. fullsize takedown ?

I was just wondering if it will do any damage to the sear or the trigger or the gun period if when taking the gun down you just pull the trigger to release the slide from the frame? Or is it completely necessary to push the little sear lever down every time you disassemble the gun to not do damage? This may be a old question here but I was just wondering myself and wanting to see what kind of responses I get because I've never asked. When I disassemble my gun I just pull the trigger and the slide comes right off easily with out me using the mag well tool to push the sear down.

It will not damage the gun to pull the trigger to disassemble. It's no different than pulling the trigger to dry fire, which is also totally fine. Just make sure, triple sure, your following safety rules/the gun is clear before pulling the trigger ...
