Default Unusual ware on the slide stop. mp22 compact.

Hi, new to the forum. I am getting unusual ware on the slide stop notch. It is causing the firearm to lock back with rounds in the mag. If any one has ran into this is there a fix for it? Also if I have to ship a firearm back for warranty do i have to go thru a FFL?

M&P 22 compact
Purchase date: Jan 14, 2016.
Round count: ~100 Remington bulk pack

There should be a steel pin in there to protect the aluminum slide. Can't really tell from your photo. If it is a problem S&W will send you a shipping label to return it.

The steel pin is there, the wear is on the inside of the slide. Im wondering if this is a common issue with .22 compact. Anyone else have the same issue? I hate sending things back, but i guess I will have to. Here's a resized pic.
