Question M&P Conversions

My wife doesn't seem to enjoy my 40c like I thought she would. Says the dog has to much 'Bark'. Has anyone done a caliber reduction from 40s&w to .357Sig? I've read quite a few reviews that sound good but you can't take that for gospel. Some folks just get lucky. I've done a barrel length conversion on my G20 10mm from 4.6 to 6.5 for hunting but that was a factory barrel. I'm interested in a Storm Lake barrel in .357 and read somewhere that S&W doesn't make a .357 sig barrel anymore and recommends Storm Lake. Any thoughts?

.357 SIG is not the answer for less "bark". How about a conversion to 9mm? All you need is a barrel and a magazine, and it's the same barrel S&W puts in the 9c.

You're moving laterally. It's still a 40s&w but necked down to 9mm and it cost almost twice as much to shoot.

40S&W has about 1100 fps and 450 ft-lbs.
357sig has about 1300 fps and 550 ft-lbs.

Obviously different length guns and different bullet weights will have different results

I wouldn't put a regular 9mm factory barrel in any of my M&P's in doesn't provide a proper lock up at the barrel hood. You'll need an aftermarket conversion barrel. Storm Lake makes them as does KKM. You'll also need 9mm mags if you decide to go this route. Hope this helps!

The .357 Sig will increase the bark. You need a suppressor instead.

To reduce the bite go to 9mm.

Default Agree with a 9mm factory barrel...

I purchased a factory 9 barrel for my FS 40. Worked just fine, shot several hundred rounds without any problems. Liked the 9 so much, I bought a 9mm M&P CORE.

An inexpensive way to try a 9 mm. And 9 mm ammo is much less expensive...
