40 cal full size full battery issue
I have a full size 40 cal that I am having trouble with. I am shooting American eagle non toxic ammo out of it. It seems that the round that is going into the chamber is hanging up somehow and it is about an 1/8" from going into full battery. Gun will not fire, but you notice that there is no trigger strike obviously. I will try to attach photos.

No doubt. I am wondering of the extractor spring is the culprit, but it seems to have only happened on the one magazine. I switched mags, run ****** and the same ammo back through, and then it functioned fine. Ran it some today with same ammo and both mags and it seemed fine again. I don't know what the deal.is.

Let Smith work it out. Their turn around time isn't that long.

What is none toxic ammo?
You said gun will not fire but there is a firing pin strike in the picture.
If it seems fine now you may have had something in the mag or the gun that resolved itself or there were a few rounds that were somehow causing this. Try some more and if nothing happens then the problem probably resolved itself

Sorry, this one is a spent casing. I found it on the ground where I was shooting. It must have went into battery to fire. The ones that didn't fire look like this, I was using this one as an example. Sorry for the confusion.

He's probably referring to a lead styphnate free primer and a fully jacketed/plated bullet to reduce airborne lead.
