Default MP22 compact barrel issue

Just picked up a new MP22 compact. Love everything about this gun, but noticed one thing that I didn't expect. The bore is, well, rough. Granted, this isn't a match gun and I didn't expect a mirror finish, but the first time I looked down the bore, I thought it was rusty. But closer examination shows the bore, both the lands and the grooves show what appear to be machining marks. Just wondering if this is normal for this gun. Are there any other MP22 compact owners out there who can relate what their's looks like?

Not normal in my experience. Might want to give CS a call!

I bought one a year ago and the barrel was perfect. I just picked up one at a gun show a few days ago and the barrel was not as nice as the first one. I wouldn't say it was as rough as you described but not as nice as the first one I bought. I've also read on another forum of people having the same issue. Mine is on the way back to S & W because the takedown lever just about fell out when I broke it down to clean for my first range trip with it. I'm really not going to worry about it since as someone said it's not a match gun and for the money I paid it's ok for what I'm going to do with it. I'm just a little disappointed since this one was for my wife to shoot and now I have to wait for them to get it back to me. On the plus side unlike many experiences I see online about C.S they answered the call within minutes and I had a Fed Ex label within 10 minutes. I'm impressed with that part. Now I hope the repair goes as well.
