Default BG380 sans the Insight Laser

The integrated laser unit in my BG380 went south, (As most have.) I sent it in to S&W for a replacement. They sent me a Crimson Trace replacement unit. Customer service is exceptional!
I had removed the laser unit from the gun sometime ago and have been using the gun without it. I closed the holes in the dust cover with plastic hole plugs. I painted the top of the front sight for better pick-up and found I really like the iron sights that came with the gun, and probably will not install the new laser unit. By leaving it out, I don't have to constantly check the hold down/ mounting screw to make sure it doesn't back out and catch the slide! Images supplied.

Very nice photography. The CT laser is easy to install and I use a dedicated driver to check the screw everytime I clean the gun....much more reliable than the L shaped driver that came with the gun. I do not use loctite. The trigger on mine is buttery smooth and it is much more accurate than any of my j frames [in my hands] or other small semi autos. I carry mine every day in Remora in front pocket.

I bought the one with no laser and with the safety. This is my carry for most days. Probably should get 2 more mags...

I painted a thin red stripe across the laser screw and the frame, to tell if the screw had moved. This is the same thing mechanic’s do on aircraft bolts, which are too small for safety wire. Don’t use lock-tite.

Where did you get the plastic hole plugs?
What size are they?
Thank You

The polymer plugs are size; 3/16" & 5/16" respectively and are available on eBay! They fit tightly so no worries about falling out when firing the gun!

Another reason to leave out the laser unit is, S&W calls for the removal of the unit when ever the handgun is cleaned. If you shoot very often as I do, it becomes a pain to remove and re-install after very range session!
