nex week i will buy my second M&P...

i have read a lot of stories of s&w upgrades in years, on trigger barrel...

i want to know, when all this factory upgrades, in the years that have been made, and buy a M&P built after this upgrades... and how to recognize if a M&P is oler then other...

Well, lot's of views but no input so here goes.

I'm not aware of any definitive way to determine if any model has *all* the upgrades other than physically inspecting the firearm.

The upgrades were introduced over time and S&W seemed to come up with old stock that got used in production for several years.

If you have the box, you can check the date code on the sticker or the fire date on the spent case. The newer the more likely you have them all.

My FS9 and 9C are from 2013. Both had the 1:10 barrels but had the old style slide lock and trigger bar. They were easy enough to buy and swap out.

for exaple, when S&W began to make slide with out STAINLESS incision on slide?

I had a used one back in 2011 and the gun was older and had STAINLESS written on it

As far as I can tell, the Stainless rollmark disappeared around 2012. Neither of mine have them. Someone else may have a better answer.

There are still changes happening so you may never have one with *all* the latest updates unless you keep buying them. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

My 9C from around Aug 2013, came with:

1:10 barrel

No "Stainless" rollmark. Personally, I prefer this.

S Stamped Trigger Bar, now swapped for H.

Old style slide lock, now swapped with new style.

Old style sear now swapped with Performance center sear.

My FS9 (Spring 2013) came pretty much the same way but all I have in it is the new slide stop.

There are no aftermarket parts in either one.

The short answer is that there is apparently no way to guarantee that you will get all the upgrades. There are threads online where people have bought new production guns and had old style parts in them. I personally have bought a gun made in the middle of last year that had the old style slide lock lever. S&W seems to put whatever parts they have on hand at the time into the guns and this apparently sometimes gets old style parts into new guns.

I have to order M&P, because in my gunshop is not avaiable...so i can't verify on the box or test fire case, when is it made...

anyway, a M&P from 2013 is a decent upgrade M&P...

the important is to have the new barrel and without Stainless write on slide.

It's very likely, if that's what's most important, that you should be fine.
