M&P .40/.357 Sig Conversion
Purchased a S&W M&P .357 Sig barrel and installed it in a M&P .40 S&W slide. I am assuming that the .40 slide be used to fire .357 Sig cartridges--is this correct?

Yep, no other changes required....and I'm embarrassed to say that I can tell you from experience that the .357 sig round can be fired from that 40 S&W barrel if you get distracted. Even cycled the slide.

I thought the .357 guns got a different recoil spring?

Sadly, I have had the .357 Sig barrel myself for about 3 weeks now but still haven't tried it out in my 40FS. Gotta get that done soon!

What happened to the green spring? Did S&W just drop it when they dropped 357 Sig and call the blue spring "good enough"?

I do wonder that myself since my .40 has a different color spring than my 9mm guns. I assumed that it meant a different weight. I never looked into the color, though, since the best I could determine online is that they all use 16# springs.

I was lucky enough to get the 9mm barrel from Midway at the end of April. My next quest is the 357 Sig, I just wish it was available for $65.99 like the 9mm.

It's something like $85. I recently got a factory 357 barrel from Midway.
But, like others, life has gotten in the way of shooting it yet.
