BG vs LCP
Have had a LCP for years & love it. But thinking about a BG because of sights & safety. Will keep LCP because no resale value. BG worth it for a pocket gun?

Not really. I have both; but, the new improved LCP is the one I choose to carry and keep in my car. I just don't care a lot for the Bodyguard.

I think the BG is a fine pocket pistol. Been carrying one as such for years. It also stays in my car to be available for BUG duty to my Shield 9mm.

Put a pachmyer grip on your BG and you may get better results with it. Worked for me.

I have both and the BG mostly sits in the safe. The LCP is a primary pocket carry on sticky days or bug.

Thanks people!
You talked me out of it.
Guess that's why I don't have a BG yet.
And why I won't get a Kahr or Remington either.
I have the Hogue's on mine & like them. More control & no problem for me getting it out of pocket.
My wife will really appreciate you all.

Two thoughts based on my personal experience:
1) NEVER tell your wife your getting a new gun.
2) You just got talked out of a darn fine pocket pistol.

These seem like silly comparisons.
Check the specific instances.

Not necessarily talked out of completely, but on hold, for this week.
My issue is the LCP is reliable as heck & just works.
I think I have the need Bug & always liked the BG. For all the reasons Garddogg56 sited.

I stopped at the local Gander Mountain last night, and they had the BG on sale for $309. That always happens to me. I paid $339 at my local independent gun store less than a month ago. They also had the LCP on sale for $199. Can't believe how cheap those are now. I paid over $300 for mine just a few years ago.

I have both. The BG is carried daily and the LCP Custom is in the safe. I just never warmed up to the LCP. I may change my mind someday.

I only have the BG, but with over 500 rounds through it there have been no failures of any kind.

Had both, sold the LCP. Both are fine for what they are. I just preferred the BG.

Here we go again. I bought a new BG, took it home and dry fired it a couple of times, the trigger was abysmal. Sold it unfired. Went back to the store, tried the triggers on all the pocket pistols in the case. Yes I should have checked the BG at the store. The Ruger Custom LCP was the only acceptable one. Ordered it thru my dealer. Shoots great, I carry if around the farm.

Compared to the Bodyguard, the LCP has an excellent trigger and only weighs 9 oz. The best LCP to get is with the red trigger and raised sights. There are other models, some older generations, which are less desireable but still good shooters. I have a Gen 1 LCP with upgrades and it has never had a failure since day 1.
