Any Advantages for C.O.R.E USPSA
If i want to shoot in the production class do you think there is any point in getting the C.O.R.E. version of the 5 inch M&P over just the standard pro series?
Especially if I'm not going to use an optic
Thanks

NO, there is no point. You can't use optics in production anyway. Now if you wanted to shoot in the new Carry Optics division, it would be great. I bought a Core when it first came out and it has worked great for 3 seasons now. But when I built up an Open M&P, I got a standard 9L, stripped it down to the frame and slide, and replaced everything else. I still have a box of brand new parts from that experiment. Here's a link to the thread about that if you're interested. 9mm Major PF Build Thread

One CORE advantage...
The CORE striker is located under the plastic optics cover, so the rear sight does not need to be removed to update the striker or provide striker maintainence. Just in case Apex parts are in the future.
One downside, the CORE has less available options in replacement sights.

The rear sight does not have to be removed to remove the striker assembly on the M&P Pro9. I have one and have replaced the striker assembly by removing the back plate.
For production use, the M&P Pro 9 5" come with FO front and black blade back sight, the favorite among production shooters.
Bkreutz nailed it, the CORE is for optics, which cannot be used in Production.

The USPSA Production Division has limitations on modifications allowed, so suggest you read the rules carefully before making modifications (especially externally visible ones).

Yes I've done my research into it i would be able to replace the sear and the trigger springs the comp AEK for example but i wouldn't be able to go with the FSS kit. Not much else i would do other than an extended mag release (i've seen a few that are legal) or different sights if i decide i don't like these. I'll def run the gun a few thousand rounds as is before i even start to think about making any changes
