M&P 22 compact ammo
I know there are lots of ammo for 22's. I have been practicing with Aguila Super Extra copper coated 40 grain ammo and so far I had no jams or misfires from the brick of 500 rounds.
I asked S&W if the CCI Stinger would fire without a issue and they replied that CCI Stinger is not recommended in my M&P compact. That lead me to wonder which 22 ammo I should stay away from. I'm not looking for the most expensive ammo as it's just for target practice and I'm a long way from competitive shooting . I read how the CCI Blazer is a consistent ammo if you can ever find it and I was wondering if anyone has used CCI's 22lr mini mags.
I love this gun and it's my only handgun which will be for personal protection as well. I'm well aware of the many pistols which may be better for personal protection, but until I decide on another pistol my 22 compact is what I'll use. If there is ammo which has more stopping power and will not damage my gun I would like to know.

My wife has used several types of CCI, Remington golden, Federal, S&B, and Aguila all with zero issues. The gun likes everything we have tried.

Shot about everything in my M&P 22 Compact.
Shocked me, but it was most accurate with this stuff:
If I was ever to use it for SD, Mini-Mags would likely be the load I'd use.

I've used Federal Champion, CCI AR Tactical, Choot Ems, Blazers, Winchester 333's and the CCI 40 & 36 grain rounds with no problems.

I've had my 22c since the first of the year. So far it's only had CCI Mini Mags through it with absolutely no issues. Luckily we have an LGS that keeps them in stock and I pick up a couple boxes every time I'm in there. Good luck on finding CCI Stingers, haven't seen any of those in at least a couple years around here.

People always talk about Remington sub sonic. I've never seen it in the stores around me.

600+ rounds thru my Compact with zero ammo issues. Has been fine on Fed champ and automatch plus likes the different versions of CCI mini mags (36 & 40 grain hp and solids).
I now tend to purchase/stick with just mini mags when able as that is what my Buckmark "prefers". In fact i sort of use the Compact to help go thru my stock that the BM doesnt eat lol

I have the M&P22 full size and have had great success with the Aguila Super Extra, CCI MiniMags, and CCI AR Tactical. On the other hand, I've had many malfunctions with Federal Automatch and Federal Champion. So I just save the Federal for use in my Ruger 10/22. I have not yet tried Remington or Winchester in my pistol.

I have around 1200 rounds thru mine and have only had 2 FTF, both were from one box of Remington bulk. It shoots Winchester 555 bulk pack, Federal Lightning, CCI Blazer and CCI Mini Mag solid and HP. Got rid of the Remington after 50 rounds. I also fired one mag of CCI Velocitors thru it, but I am saving them for my 10/22 or M&P15-22. My every day carry ammo are Mini Mags.
I also carry it CCW on short trips around town or shopping. I'm pushing 70 and like the light weight it and the two spare mags, carried in a Fobus mag carrier.
But, for winter time and trips to our closest "big city", I replace it with my M&P9 full size.

My .22 Compact has shot at least nine different kinds of ammo with nary a hitch. S&W most likely recommends you don't shoot Stingers because they have a slightly longer brass casing than other .22lr ammo. That could lead to feeding or extraction problems. The Stinger is also very high velocity, and too much of it can wear the gun down quicker than normal.

My .22 Compact likes CCI Mini Mag, AR Tactical, and Standard Velocity, as well as Remington Golden Bullets, and Blazer.
It chokes badly on Federal Lightning, AutoMatch, and American Eagle.

My 22 compact runs great with just about everything. I found out last weekend that it does not like Winchester Wildcat 22's though. Every other round jammed or FTE. My 13 year old got a lot of practice clearing the gun.

Surely not. It's hard to argue with perfection. Nearly all .22lr pistol troubleshooting should begin and end with CCI Mini-Mags.
