Just installed these kits in both my M&P Bodygyard magazines, not so much for the extra round, but to have a working magazine. Mags that come with it are unreliable, stovepipe the next to the last or last round in both mags with 3 brands of ammo. What's your experience?

I buy Wolff springs for factory mags that don't feed well and revival of old tired magazines as well.

I have a set in one of my Shield 7 round mags. I've probably shot 300 rounds with it . Zero problems, it's definitely easier to load than with
the stock mag spring in there. I may get another one for one of my 8 round mags .
9+1 is definitely better than 8 + 1 :)

I've been using them in all my Shield mags for several Years now. I put several hundred rounds through each mag before using them for CC.

I did not have any problems with the factory mag springs and did not get them for the 'extra round' capability. I use them to make loading the rounds easier, as well as for easier seating of the mags into the pistol.

I also ran Magguts in my Shield 9 both 7 and 8 rd mags and never had any problems...but now I have moved to the Shield 45 and have not seen (as they are not being made YET) the Magguts spring design for the new 45..(yes they plan to produce them)...

If they design the 45 spring in that "zee" coil design I may pass on it as I do not have the engineering knowledge to understand if that is a safe, viable design for a 45 round.:confused:

This looks like a great idea, long as they work as advertised.
I just wish they made them for some of my SD guns. I'd be a buyer for sure. Having one more round is never a bad thing.

Been waiting to see the responses on this product before buying and so far everyone is positive about it. I guess I'll give them a try.

The Bodyguard's mag springs are very weak, IMO. As mentioned earlier, get some of the Wolff mag springs for the Keltec P3AT. They fit most any .380 6-round mag and are much stronger.

I used them on my glock with no issues so when I got the Shield as a christmas present, last year, after break in, I ordered them for one 7 and one 8 shot mag. BTW, except for being stiff as all get out when new, I have never had a ftf or fte from any of them. I now have 7 8 shot mags and another 7 shot. After a while, I decided to take the mag guts out of my 8 shot mag and put it in my new 7 shot. I did this because I shoot matches and it is easier to remember they are all 8 shot than trying to figure out which one is a 9. I am sold between my glock 42 and my shield, I have more that 500 rounds through the mags that have them.

I'm using MagGuts in my BG380, including the two spares. 22 rounds of XTP in a very easy to carry package.

I've got a few hundred rounds through them without problems.

Edit: to fix crazy image that was uploaded the first time.

MagGuts +2 extension

S&W Shield Magazine Extension | MagGuts

When used with magguts system adds 2 rounds.....9+1, 10+1
I've used plus 1 system flawlessly for past year. Have 3 kits installed in both flush and extended magazines. Been very impressed with quality and reliability. Saw these and ordered 2 today. Brand new offering, I will post update when I receive/install and function test. These are for Shield 9mm

I'm interested in the Magguts not for the extra round, although thats nice, but because I had one of the mags where the spring bent up like an L. Now some people say that only factory stuff should be used for a SD weapon but when factory stuff fails, I have to disagree.
I've been watching the Magguts posts ever since and I have yet to come across one which mentions a failure.

I'm real interested to hear how these work out. Although I/m surprised that they didn't put a shelf on the back side to make it flush, 9+1 is definitely better than 7+1

Cool, will do. Should have by middle week. I agree with the back of extension. Not sure why the didn't make longer. I'm thinking maybe carry printing.

I've found several benefits from this product. First being reliability. I have 3 kits. 2 in carry flush magazines that I rotate out and a backup extended mag. I've ran hundreds of rounds through them. No issues whatsoever. I think early problems people were having was simply do to installing them incorrectly. Where the springs meet its opposite of the way you'd think they go. If you purchase, watch YouTube video of install and your golden. The ones I purchased had vague instructions. The second reason would be the extra capacity. Bottom line, in a high stress confrontation your probably going to miss some shots. I've read studies about law enforcement shooting where highly trained shooters often miss 75-85% of their shots. More rounds equals better likelihood of finding your target. 7 or 8 round magazine, potentially missing 75% shots is scary. Maybe one round on target. Something to think about. Lastly and probably the least important to me is that this conversion actually makes magazines easier to load. Which means your thumb isn't going to be sore from day at range if you don't use loader. Just my 2 cents. Stay vigilant, and safe everyone.

Bumping cuz it's a good read, and I'm planning on getting a 2+ extender to try out. I'll try and remember to post some feedback once I put a few hundred round through it.

I've put about 150 rounds through the +2 kit I put on one of my 8 round mags.
So far zero issues.
