Default New .380 bodyguard need ammo

I ordered a .380 bodyguard yesterday on line.
I know some guns are finicky on ammo .

So on the newer bodyguard what do they like .
Target and defense .

Thank you .

I just bought one also. The M&P's are supposed to be improved. 50 rounds of Fiochi and a handful of Federal cd and it ate everything. I have Tula I'm going to try next.

This, for home/self-defense.

For the range, you can try a variety of ammo...I wouldn't buy a lot of any one kind until you see how it works in your particular pistol.

Yes that's why I made this thread .
I ordered 300 rounds from Cabela's then cancel the order for that reason .

I've had good luck with Hornady ammo in a variety of pistols.

I don't buy aluminum or steel case ammo, although some have said it works OK. I also don't buy the very cheap ammo, since it seems to be unusually dirty. I usually stick with Federal, Winchester, or Remington for range ammo. Back when 9mm was so hard to find, I did buy some other brands, and a couple that seemed good were PMC Bronze and Sellier & Bellot.

Some pistols can be finicky, so what works for almost everyone else many not work well in your pistol.

I've used winchester, magtech, ppu, sig sauer, remmington, and federal without any problems in over 600 rounds if that helps. Mine BG is less than a year old, so I guess that makes it a newer one. No failures of any kind.

Use the ammo that works every time.

Until you've run 100+ Faultless rounds, through your gun don't use the ammo in a sd gun.

Range ammo is often the most reliable.

Just because ammo works in my time n, doesn't mean it works in yours.

Also, I would recommend staying away from reloads - even for the range. Once, at the range they sold us their reloads for my wifes glock 42. Nothing but problems. I tried them in my bodyguard and they fired fine...except I felt metal shavings hitting me in the face.
I've used about every brand of ammo out there in my Bodyguard, and they all fed just fine. TulAmmo is the dirtiest and though it worked fine, I won't use it anymore. I use Winchester White Box, Federal, and Perfecta (which is the least expensive and best buy in my opinion).
For carry ammo (JHP's) I have a variety of ammo that has all proven reliable in my Bodyguard; Hornady Critical Defense, Gold Dot, Sig Saur V crown, Winchester PDX1, Winchester Defend, Liberty Civil Defense, Federal Hydra shock, and most recently Federals NEW HST "Micro" (for short barrel guns). I try to keep 200 rounds of sd ammo on hand. MY mags are loaded with Hornady or Gold Dots right now.

just put 50 rounds of Remington and 50 rounds of pmc, only 2 light strikes that were cured with the second pull of the trigger. Also ran about 8 rounds of federal HST.

Ive put 300 rounds of winchester white and remington green FMJ ammo with very little problems and the price is pretty good and not much more per 100 rounds than the really cheap stuff.
