Does anyone know if the crimson trace lg-489 is made to fit the new .45 like it does the 9 and 40?

I have a CT LG-489 that fits my 9MM Shield. I removed it and attempted to install it on my .45 ACP Shield. It will not quite fit! It appears that the 489 would fit just fine all around the trigger guard and up under the frame, except for the fact that the .45 frame extends just a bit farther toward the barrel end before the underside of the frame narrows down as compared to the 9MM. The front portion of the LG-489 has a narrowed portion that fits exactly in place on the 9 but will not fit completely up underneath the frame on the .45 ACP. If I wished to modify my 489 by removing just a bit of the narrowed section on either side to allow the sight to fit flush with the frame, I believe it would work. Only way to know that for sure would be to possibly sacrifice the sight. I decided to wait and see if an LG model is made for the .45 frame. I would expect that to happen one of these days, especially since S&W has purchased the Crimson Trace business. Time will tell!

lg-485 will be the model of crimson trace for the shield 45. They are supposed to be available starting in February.
