I responded M&P FS9 in the poll but also have an M&P 22LR.
Poll doesn't allow for 2 valid responses/entries from me.

Just recently picked up a Shield 9mm about a month ago after my first purchase of an SD9VE. The SD wasn't small enough to carry, so the Shield is now my carry gun.

From the choices on the poll I have the Shield 9mm. Also have a Compact .45 and a Midsize .45. The Midsize is also my duty weapon.

Just got the M&P 9 today on a Black Friday sale. My wife let me get it but we have to wrap it and put it under the tree. Come on Christmas Morning. Now I'll be more excited than the kids.

Need helping deciding on #2
I currently own the Shield 9mm as my only firearm. I'm itching for #2, and I want something fun but with some versatility. I don't carry yet but home defense is important to me. I'm leaning towards the M&P 22C or the BG 380. I do like the idea of pocket carry option of the 380 which I think would better suit me for easing into carrying, a little more stopping power in 380 vs .22, but shooting for fun and the cost of ammo are negatives. The 22C would be similar in size to my Shield for muscle memory purposes for practice, cheaper ammo, more fun to shoot, but not as substantial for home defense and I'm not sold on "just" a .22 as my second weapon.
Any opinions on this? Should I consider something else?

M&p 9c, m&p 9 shield NTS, m&p bodyguard .380, m&p 22, m&p 22 compact.
I've also parted with a m&p 9 FS, m&p 9c, m&p 9 shield (thumb safety), and a m&p 9L.
Wish they'd make me a M&P with a 4" barrel and 15 round mags...

My Shield in 9mm is my EDC and I love this gun. For my home defense I have a Sig P226 in .40 S&W with night sights. This works for me.

My newest is the shield 45 but I have a 40 police trade in, 9 and 22 compact. I've owned the FS 22 and 9 compact.
I keep a SL 9 conversion barrel in the 40 for around the house.
It would be difficult to say which I like the best but if I didn't have any and was going to purchase my first, it would the FS 9, maybe even a performance center.

I have all of them except the .357 versions. Somehow I missed that bandwagon. I have 4 Shield 9mm and carry one daily, however I just picked up two of the Shield 45s (Buds for $369!) and plan to get enough range time in to vet one for carrying.
I've run out of safe space long ago.... please don't make another gun S&W!!

The Shield 9 is a suitable home defense weapon. I like mine a lot. It has replaced my 3913 for daily carry.
I also have a BG380 and while I have pocket carried it, it usually just rides in my truck as a backup gun. I rarely shoot it.
The M&P22 and 22c are fun guns!!! I prefer the 22c for some reason. You cannot go wrong buying that gun. It will provide countless hours of fun and experience. My wife oftens keeps the 22c in her car for protection. Loaded with hollow point MiniMags it's not the worst choice, the problem with .22 ammo is reliability though. Centerfire will always trump rimfire.
Get the 22c, and then start figuring out what the next gun will be.

.380 Bodyguard
Shield 9mm
M&P 9mm
S&W Model 642
Next purchase will be the M&P 9c.
After that I believe I might branch out to some others. Sig 320, Sig 226, Springfields XD and XDS, maybe another wheel gun. Maybe even a Glock 19

I have a BG380 and just bought a FS40 today from gander Mountain for $349.99 and change. The salesman informed me that the Atlanta PD had recently switched away from the M&P and their company was lucky enough to pick up their old duty weapons. Mine isn't stamped with "Atlanta Police" like the others were, but from the looks it was barely used, probably only used a few times for target practice.

I have an M&P Pro Series long slide and it's been wonderful so far. Only thing I regret is I should bought the 4.25" barrel model. Bought it for competition, haven't had the time attend one.
