While I do not have a Shield 45, I do have the Shield 9mm and my answer would be a Wright Leather Works custom holster like my "Predator". I have carried my Shield in this one for about 3 years and the fit and retention are still spot on.

I've aldo got a shield 9mm and have been carrying it in a Foxx Hybrid. I don't see myself changing anytime soon. It was getting carried in an N82 Professional, but the single clip allowed it to move too much going from sitting to standing

I use the N82 Tactical Professional IWB holster with my Shield 9. It's very comfortable and offers good retention however the draw takes a little getting used to. According to there website it also fits the Shield 45. I've also got one for my 40c.

Great weapon, I gave my Shield 45 a Minimalist Q Series IWB holster. It rides well wherever you go.

I use an Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0 for iwb carry, very high quality piece. I need to get an owb holster, that Comp Tac paddle holster looks promising, rock doc, how do you like it? how is the retention? I've been holding out for the Blackhawk Serpa, but they haven't come out with it yet

I use a CrossBreed Mini-Tuck IWB for my Shield 45. The fit , adjustability, and comfort are amazing. Half the time I forget I'm even wearing it!

I carry my .45 Shield in either a Remora or a DeSantis Cozy Partner. I should have a new shell for my Alien Gear Cloak Tuck 3.0 soon. Another holster I'm considering is a Badger Concealment with their new Raptor texture kydex. I had one for my G30 and found it very comfortable and easy to carry.

Another surprisingly, is the Glock Sport holster. $12 and it fits my Shield 45 very well.

I picked up the Safariland 578-183-411 for my Shield 45. So far so good. It comes with a paddle and a belt hook. Found it on fleabay for ~$26.

Another vote for Wright Leather Works "Predator" pancake style holster for my Shield. I also have the "Cobra" IWB/OWB for my Ruger SP101.

The retention on the Comp-Tac paddles are whatever you want, since they are adjustable with a couple of adjustment screws. I like these paddles from Comp-Tac, and have bought three in all.

If you carry AIWB check out Desantis Slim Tuk, I love it. Light weight and good retention. OWB check out Winthrop holster s, they are slim, light and very close to the body.

Since I like to go light and economical, ensuring that I'm always carrying, in everything from blue jeans to gym shorts, I tote a S&W 38 Airweight, or Shield9, in one of several cheap pocket holsters I got on ebay for under $10.
And they work like a charm.
Ain't no way in hell I'm paying $50-100 bucks for a stupid friggin' holster.

I can't imagine how big those blue jeans are if you can carry a Shield 9 in a pocket. But I concur that spending big bucks for a holster and throwing the name around sounds too "metro" for me. If I could get to it in a hurry, I'd carry it in a sack.

Living in balmy, sultry, south Georgia, I typically wear loose,cargo-pocket shorts in temps down to the 30's, so carrying something as dimunitve as a Shield isn't even remotely a chore.
Same for blue jeans: as I don't wear the skin-tight stuff I did in high school, the pockets are plenty loose enough for a lil' ol' Shield.

I some what the opposite. I don't get people that'll spend $500+ on a gun and put in some crappy $10 Uncle Mikes iwb Holster. Pocket holsters I get being cheap. But I don't have a problem spending $50 or so on a decent iwb or owb holster.
A lot of times you get what you pay for and I want my gun to be where I put it when I need it. Your life may depend on it.
Same reason I have safariland for work instead of some other brand.

I picked up a DeSantis Mini Slide for a Ruger SR9C a few years back...I use it for the Shield 9 & 45, the 3913 and the 6906. A little twist of the retention screw dials it in. It also fits my Kahr CM45, but I seldom take that out.
I also have a G&G IWB for a Glock 27.... works just fine for all of the above also.
I have a few individually-fitted holsters, but I tend to use the one or two that fit everything the most. I guess I'm too lazy to go in the holster box to find the "special" ones.

Another vote for Wright Leather Works "Predator." Best holster by far in my long life of holster buying. Fit and finish are impeccable and the extra leather strip at the top of the holster keeps it open for easy reholstering (see jaysq's photo).

I've gravitated to a Desantis ( (001BA5EZ0) THUMB BREAK SCABBARD - Black - Right - Unlined ) for my EDC Shield 45. I wear it about 2:30 , just over my Wranglers front pocket, and it carries the pistol high, so that it's just under my rib-cage. The lower edge of the holster comes down just to the top of the watch pocket and it's very comfortable standing or sitting.

I bought a N82 tactical professional holster for my 9mm Shield and have found it also works for the 45 Shield. I wear it at 3 o'clock strong side hip with slight cant forward.

These are great holsters- I JUST paid for my M&P Shield 45acp that should be here this week and went on amazon to order this holster for it. I have had one for my LC9s for a year and love it. I'd recommend to anyone for the money it's hard to beat.

Edit: Sorry for bumping an old thread without checking first.

Just one. An off-the-rack DeSantis Mini Scabbard. Simple. Effective. Relatively inexpensive. I like to keep things simple. Most of the time.

Thumbs up

The Vedder LightTuck is excellent. I have one for my Shield .45 and love it.

I currently have 3. I have an OWB made by Mitch Rosen, a stealthgear mini IWB which gets the most use and a kydex by concealment express for quick trips. They are all good for their intended purpose.

A lot of times you get what you pay for and I want my gun to be where I put it when I need it. Your life may depend on it.
Same reason I have safariland for work instead of some other brand.
I'm not into holsters at all, but I've been carrying the 9mm Shield every day for over 3 years in a Desantis Pro Stealth, which didn't cost more than $25. It keeps the gun very stable and shows no wear at all after 3 years. And the gun shows almost no wear either. The same holster fits the 45 Shield quite well, but I'm still carrying the 9mm mostly due to it's history of reliability. (referring only to the one I have--3000 rds vs a little over 500 with my 45) The Pro Stealth has a built in mag holder which is essentially useless. I carry one spare mag in back pocket in a Remora pouch.

It's not fancy nor leather, but I carried my 45 Shield in an H28? Remora all day today and it was just about perfect.
I was suspect about them before but with this carry and several more with other guns, I'm a believer.
Very comfortable and very secure.

How are you carrying that? I also use a foxx holster but your looks set up for a negative cant. My front clip is higher than the back by one hole to make the grip tilt forward. What position on the body do you put it? Mines at 3:30-4:30

I've been looking at this holster too.
Can you comment on the fit, finish, how well the single loop works, basically just a quick overall impression of it.

The fit and finish are fine. The pistol is snug in the holster, but the holster will "adjust itself" to the gun in two or three days. The finish is perfectly acceptable...the edges are nicely burnished and dyed black...there is no welt. And it's an open-toe design, which I always prefer. The holster is unlined, but the unfinished interior smooths out nicely.

I've never been fond of tension screws (simply because I'm old fashioned), but this one works as it should.

The single loop on the back fits snugly on a 1.75-inch wide belt, which is how wide all my gunbelts are. The holster has a cant, and even has a belt loop cutout on the single loop, which is a nice touch on a relatively inexpensive holster.

As I said, this is an off-the-rack holster...found this one at Cabelas. There's no need to bone the holster...just stick the pistol in it and go. It holds the gun securely, but once it's broken in, allows for a smooth draw.

I'm perfectly satisfied with it.

You are correct...this is their small of the back holster and I use it for appendix carry...it's perfect for that...very comfortable and spreads the weight out nicely.....and at appendix I needed/wanted 0 cant on the weapon....I had emailed them and asked that they make that special cutout in back of the front sight which makes sitting with this holster at appendix a dream...no binding at all in the sitting position......

Thanks for the review.
I've got a Safariland ProFit GLS that's pretty decent, but just like to have a leather option as well.
I also have a leather on that I had made for my Shield 40 a few of years ago, but its set up for cross draw. It actually works pretty well for the 45, just a little short on the sweat guard.
Starting to try strong side carry, but don't want to spend a lot of $ in case it doesn't work for me.
Been checking out a few holsters I found eBay for about the same price as the Desantis, and might give one a try.

Default Bianchi & Shield 45

Got a Bianchi model. 57 a couple of weeks ago & am perfectly happy. Made much like the Galco concealable only single row of stitching. Plus it's $56 & not $100

Either Alien Gear Clock Tuck 3, Concealment Express for when I want a simple one clip kydex (easy to take off and on), or a Sticky. Also all three of these work for my Shield 9 as well (Sticky works for many guns actually - What holsters are you using for Shield 45?)

Good to hear, as I just ordered one sight unseen. I tried the Blade Tech but the clip placement made for bad printing in the AIWB position. The Slim Tuk puts the clip along the slimmer trigger guard instead of along the bulkier frame.

Default 45 shield holster

The problem is holsters that fit the
shield 9 and 40 do not fit the 45 Shield. The slide is wider. I am having a hard time finding anyone who makes a holster for the 45.

Comp-Tac and Vedder both make reasonably price and high quality holsters for the Shield 45. JM Custom Kydex also does. They are a little higher priced; but, are very good holsters. I'm sure there are more; but, hopefully, these three will have something that will work for you.
