Default Striker Block Problem

I am having a problem with my .45 shield's striker block. It is a brand new pistol, but the striker block will not move freely. Slide take down is a bit difficult. I am assuming this is because it is a new pistol. But when I get the back plate off the slide, the striker will not come out because the striker block is not in the up position. I can reach in with a small screwdriver and push it up just enough that the striker assembly will come out, but the block does not move freely. You can feel it dragging on something when you push it down and back up. How do I get the striker block out to clean it so it moves freely? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

If you look on YOUTUBE for a video on how to install a USB in an M&P, it will show you how to remove the striker block.

Thanks, of course I found that after I posted the thread. I had a burr in the striker block channel. I had to use a punch and force the striker block out and then sand inside the channel to get rid of the burr. I would have thought quality control would have caught that. But, after a bit of polishing and a touch of lube I am good to go. Again, thanks for your help.

While you're there, check the bore in the 'block' that the spring rides in. Some have distinct grooves that give a crunchy effect as the spring coils ride over them.
