Default M&P Shield 40 not firing after reload

Fired the first rounds through my Shield 40 today at the range. After emptying the magazine and reloading the first trigger pull did not fire. The second trigger pull would - as if the trigger or sear did not reset all the way when the magazine ran out and the slide held open. Am I missing something? has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks!

so you had one miss fire in how many rounds? It happened to me 1 of 100 rnds. Did you check the bullet? did it had a striker fire mark on the primer? mine had. I guess it was the ammo.

Clarification would be helpful. Are you saying that the trigger failed to reset, and that when you pulled the trigger nothing happened? Or, are you saying that the trigger worked, the striker fell, but the round did not fire?

Did it happen with every reload? Is the slide going fully into battery? Are you riding the slide? If it happens frequently try tapping the back of the slide when reloading. If the problem goes away you can work to find the problem from there.
